   1. Evaluation of Navigation Safety of Port Waters Based on SPA

  摘要:   Abstract- There are a lot of factors on navigation safety of the port waters,and most of factors are indeterminate, so we can take them as an uncertain system, which consists of ship subsystem, human subsystem, environment subsystem, pilotage service subsystem and port service subsystem. It puts forward a Set Pair Analysis (SPA) theory on the evaluation of navigation safety of port waters, which can make full use of information about factors influencing navigation safety of the port waters. By SPA,evaluating navigation safety of the port waters, not only the factors influencing navigation safety of the port waters and the factors’ weight can be fully considered, but also their relation will be reflected. And it can reflect navigation safety of the port waters better, and also can reflect the potential capacity improving the safety of the port waters. It is helpful to improve the safety situation of the pert waters, to prevent water traffic accidents, and to improve the navigation efficiency of the port waters. It is a new method and feasible to evaluate navigation safety of the port waters based on SPA. And prospecting the application of SPA in port safety assessment, it can be expanded in space and time aspect.

   2. Robust Receding Horizon Control of Dynamic Positioning Ship

  摘要:   The dynamic positioning(DP) ship maintains its position and heading by active thrusters. Several challenges exist with regard to the DP controller design, such as uncertain system model, actuator with saturation hard limitations, state or output (ship position or orientation) constraints. A robust receding horizon dual-mode control method is introduced into the design of DP controller using the property of the invariant ellipsoid. Outside the ellipsoid, the receding horizon control is employed .Once the state enters the ellipsoid, the control is switched to a linear state feedback control, which makes the state stay in the ellipsoid forever and stabilizes the system while satisfying the input, the state and the output constraints. The DP control is obtained by using semi-definite programming (SDP) which can be easily solved by means of linear matrix inequalities (LMI). At last, the simulation study is carried out to verify the feasibility and efficiency of the application of robust receding horizon dual-mode control for dynamic positioning ship.

   3. Based on Grey Theory to Predict Development and Construction of Inland River Shipping

  摘要:   Predicting the development of inland river shipping is the major macroeconomic research of the transport infrastructure .Using grey prediction theory method, GM (1,1) prediction model is established. This model forecasts the trend of the carrying capacity of water transportation , inland waterways mileage and high-grade waterways mileage in China. The prediction accuracy can reach 99%.

   4. The Design and Development of AIS System Based on ECDIS

  摘要:   AIS has a powerful information processing function. How to real-time and efficiently parse and reuse all kinds of AIS message,how to directly and completely display all AIS information. These are the key of promoting AIS information using efficiency and fully exerting function of AIS aid-to-navigation. Therefore, An AIS system based on ECDIS is designed, the structure and function modules of the system are designed according to the users' demands and relating to international standards. A double-deck interactive information system is proposed by using AIS as a lower computer and ECDIS as an upper computer. According to characteristics of AIS message and the particularity of ECDIS displaying, four key techniques of the system are summarized: AIS message information decoding technique, ECDIS display technique, AIS information processing and database technique, AIS and ECDIS superposition technique.Every key technique is discussed in detail and the realization way and special steps are given.The test and the project show the system have good practical applicability and broad application prospects.

   5. Experimental Study on Transportation Safety of Airport Pavement in Freeze-Thaw Cycling Environment

  摘要:   Rapid freeze-thaw cycling experiment of concrete was conducted to investigate the influence of freeze-thaw cycles on transportation safety of airport rigid pavement (ARP). The dynamic elastic modulus and mass of concrete specimens were measured and analyzed by a finite element model, which resulted in a four-linear service life prediction model of ARP and a performance based evaluation method (PBEM) of transportation safety. The results showed that the finite element model could accurately simulate damage conditions of concrete specimens, and the four-linear service life prediction model could conservatively predict damage conditions and specify bearing capacity of ARP. Both of the above models were integrated into PBEM to determine pavement capacity under freeze-thaw conditions, and PBEM was verified to be an efficient tool for aviation agencies to evaluate transportation safety. An example of transportation evaluation that considered the increasing of traffic loads and effects of freeze-thaw was provided to illustrate the applications of PBEM. And an optimized airport management system was achieved by integrating PBEM into decision-making processes.

   6. Development of Online Monitoring System for Marine Medium-Speed Diesel Engine

  摘要:   Marine diesel-engine is the core equipment of the shipping power plant. In order to supervise its real-time running state ,the online monitoring system of marine diesel engine based on virtual instruments is developed. The hardware and software design to the monitoring system are introduced. The different kinds of sensitive signals of diesel engine are collected by using corresponding sensors. The signals are analyzed and processed by the software Labview platform with the methods of vibration and thermodynamic analysis. Then the data is transferred to the scene embedded computer and industrial control computer in Central Control Room. The monitoring system can complete the diesel engine signal monitoring well, and can withdraw the unusual signal to provide the data for the following diesel engine failure diagnosis expert system.

   7. Improving Course Education to Upgrade the Psychological Quality of Students of Seafaring Specialties

  摘要:   Nowadays the world’s maritime industry is dynamic and the scientific progress has brought increasingly advanced equipment for ship communications and navigation. However, the rate of maritime accidents remains high. Investigation shows that the causes of the accidents can be attributed not only to ship sizes and types, climate conditions, and the crew’s skills, but also to the human psychology. It is widely recognized by the maritime industry that human factors including seafarers’ psychology problems have contributed to most of maritime accidents. Extensive surveys of seafarers indicate that the uncertain, risky and independent nature of the seafaring occupation exerts a great influence on their psychology. The stress they experience has a bearing on their psychological wellbeing. Seafaring students account for one quarter of the total number of the students in Shanghai Maritime University, and the seafaring students’ psychological quality is an important indicator of their overall quality. Therefore improving the psychological quality of navigational students has great significance on the enhancement of maritime safety. Based on the observing and survey of seafaring special students of Shanghai Maritime University (SMU), this paper discussed the background of psychological quality education of them and introduced the experience of SMU on how to implement Psychological Quality Education as well as methods to upgrade the psychological quality of navigational students. The practice showed that the psychological quality education method is effective and has significance in the theory and practice of psychological education of maritime universities.

   8. Preliminary Risk Assessment of Bridge Waterway Area Based on Unascertained Measure

  摘要:   The safety assessment is an important work in maritime transportation. How to measure the safety effectively is a question for the scholars and engineers. The safety evaluation of waterways is a multi-factor system engineering. Compared with other safety assessment methods, the unascertained measure is more reliable and more suitable for the safety assessment of waterways. For the purpose of evaluating the safety of bridge waterway area, the unascertained measure was proposed and the credible identification was set up after the introduction of the basic knowledge of the Unascertained Sets. Then, the method was introduced into the safety assessment of bridge waterway area and the unascertained measure model for the safety assessment of bridge waterway area was established. The weights of assessment index were determined by the Analytic Hierarchy Process. Finally, the unascertained measure model was applied to the bridge waterway area in Yangtze River. Compared with fuzzy comprehensive assessment, the unascertained measure made the result more objective. The practice showed that the method proposed here can complete the safety assessment systematically and scientifically without any assumption. The work has significance in theory and practice for safety assessment to some extent.

   9. Error Registration Algorithm of Radar Network System in VTS

  摘要:   In VTS, multi-radar network can not only expand service area of VTS, but also improve the reliability and quality of target tracking through data fusion from multiple radars. However, without registrating system error of radar before multi-radar data fusion in VTS, the quality of target tracking would not credible. Currently, Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) is often used to solve error registration of radar system by online bias estimation,but because linearization error will reduce the accuracy of the model of EKF, its estimation accuracy will become worse with time. Unscented Kalman filter (UKF) is a filtering algorithm based on Uscented transform, which directly uses the nonlinear model to avoid the linearization error and derivative calculation of Jacobian matrix. Compared with the EKF, UKF is more easy to be implemented and its estimation accuracy and convergence speed have been improved. Therefoe, UKF is proposed to achieve the error registration of radar network system and the simulation results have verified the feasibility and effectiveness.

   10. Comprehensive Evaluation Method of Water Traffic Safety in the Xiangjiang River

  摘要:   With the development of international trade, the freight volume of the inland waterway transport has increased significantly. However, the status of water traffic safety in the inland water is not so optimistic. Authorities need to strengthen the management of water traffic safety, and do well the prevention and monitoring of ship traffic accidents. This paper firstly selects some appropriate evaluation indexes based on the status analysis of the Xiangjiang river water traffic safety. Then, by using the matter-element theory and extension set theory, the comprehensive evaluation model is established to evaluate the condition of water traffic safety in the Xiangjiang River. Finally, there will be given an example to illustrate the method. The evaluation method can help the authorities to improve the condition of water traffic safety in the Xiangjiang River and also help them to prevent the traffic accident in the Xiangjiang River timely.

   11. Research on Formal Theory Framework of Navigation Digital Map

  摘要:   With the development of the navigation industry, navigation digital map plays an increasingly important role. Navigation digital map differs from traditional maps in the purpose, usage and interaction. It lacks of theoretical foundation for map-manufacture and applications. In this paper, we review the history of cartography theory and illustrate the distinct features of navigation digital map. From the perspective of full information theory, a formal theory framework of navigation digital map is proposed. Concepts and characters of syntactic map, semantic map and pragmatic map are proposed and the different of those maps are also discussed. From map-manufacture point of view, we introduce the symbolization, semantic and pragmatic phases and present restricts in those phases. An integrated map-manufacture process is also proposed. From map application point of view, the interactions among human, agent and map are discussed.

   12. Impacts of Wind and Current on Geometrical Ship-Bridge Collision Frequency

  摘要:   Based on analyzing the variation of ship's track and track width of bridge area caused by wind and current quantitatively, the paper presents the modified geometrical ship-bridge collision frequency model considering the impacts of wind and current based on the classical model. The observation data and experimental data based on large-scale maneuvering simulator are used to modify the model too. The improved model introduces track deviation coefficient and track width coefficient and establishes a quantitative formula with the relation of geometrical ship-bridge collision frequency to the wind-induced drift, current-induced drift and wind deflection. Quantitative analysis results show that this modification can reflect properly the characteristic of ship-bridge collision frequency change with wind and current. The improved model decreases systemic error with the selection of correction parameter regarding to wind and flow and has more practical applicability.

   13. A Virtual Earth-based Maritime Information Publishing Method

  摘要:   The publishing of maritime information is important for improving marine transportation efficiency and safety. In recent years, the maritime information publishing and service system has been playing a paramount role in the information sharing, along the sailing ships, port, shipping companies and marine management. However, most such systems are based on two-dimensional Electronic Chart Display & Information System (ECDIS), the multi-dimensional and multi-view feature, that people understand our world, is inconsistent with it. Now, although the ECDIS is widely used, it is not easy to understand this for the general public, especially those who without professional maritime knowledge. On the other hand, with rapid development of information technology and maritime application, the marine management are plan to enhance the services capabilities of maritime information in three-dimensional(3D) environment. The emergence of Virtual Earth technology provides an opportunity to publish and visit the maritime information with three-dimensional express mode on internet . This paper studies the maritime information publishing methods and critical technology in the 3D virtual earth environment, those information include a variety of marine surveying and mapping and related information. Firstly, this paper puts forward a solution that extract and transform non-spatial information, such as maritime notices, to spatial information; And then researches the key technology for multi-source heterogeneous maritime information organization and updates; Nextly, three-dimensional spatial and non-spatial information methods and techniques are proposed; based on those, we developed virtual earth soft system, and realized real-time publishing and 3D visual representation of maritime information. This paper’s research can enhance intuitive and realistic experience of maritime information. user can directly browse three-dimensional maritime information, and improve maritime information services facing the public. It can also provide the basic research and exploration for the construction "Digital Marine".

   14. Research on knowledge acquisition about condition identification of faults in ship equipment

  摘要:   With the development of artificial intelligence and its applications in the field of engineering, knowledge acquisition is an effective way to solve the condition identification problem. In this paper the idea of artificial intelligence was applied to the condition identification of ship equipment. Knowledge acquisition method of decision tree based on information entropy was used to acquire condition identification knowledge with monitor instances. Then C4.5 algorithm was used to measure the relative importance of monitoring attributes to the condition identification of faults. Finally, this paper established the knowledge acquisition model based on decision tree and monitor instances library. This model was verified to be efficient and in accordance with the practical condition after applied to a sample example. Therefore, it provides effective method and technology support for knowledge acquisition of condition identification of ship equipment faults based on monitoring instances.

   15. Evaluation Model of Marine Key Equipment and Systems’ Whole Performance

  摘要:   Quantitative method is used in this paper for performance evaluation of marine equipments and system. Firstly, Monitored maintenance data of 24 ships are collected. The K-means clustering and hierarchical clustering method divided the data into several categories with appropriate intervals. Then the analytic hierarchy process is applied to obtain the weight of each data. Relative weight is also calculated for consideration. Finally based on the previous analysis, set pair analysis is employed for performance evaluation. The analysis considers uncertainty and objective parameters into quantitative calculation. Evaluation results show good accordance with the practical status. Set pair analysis, along with clustering and weight calculation, is verified as a simple as well as effective way for application in marine equipment performance evaluation technology.

   16. The prediction platform of ship Traffic Accident Based on Chaotic Theory

  摘要:   We all know that the ship traffic accident is a very complex event induced by many kinds of factors, which is persons, ships, and environment. In this paper, at first analyzing chaotic characteristics appeared in vessel traffic accident. As the whole system has highly nonlinear characteristics because of these factors. So we can forecast the traffic based on chaos theory, and then presents the chaotic adaptive prediction model. Theoretically, this model is suitable for the vessel traffic accident prediction whose history record contains only small data sets but with much noise. Actually, the following simulation results on the chaos’ experimental platform, which includes phase space reconstruction, chaotic identification, and chaotic prediction on MATLAB software, showing the effectiveness of the model described above which has high prediction accuracy.

   17. Approaching Maritime Security Through Anti-Terrorist Frigate

  摘要:   In this paper we propose a novel concept ship--Anti-Terrorist Frigate based on the in-depth analysis of the characteristics of naval escorting mission and the actual situations when performing the escorting missions. Then, the characteristics of the anti-terrorist mission of escort missions, the combat system as well as the advantages of when performing escorting missions are detailed discussed. Finally, the analysis results showed that the anti-terrorist frigate do well and implement tasks effectively in the long term sea convoy escort mission. Also, anti-terrorist activities can greatly reduce the costs and effectively save combat ability of the main destroyers.

   18. Research on probability of ship collision with bridge in different wind and drift

  摘要:   At present, the model recommended by "American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials" (AASHTO) which was issued by American Association of State Highway and Transportation in 1991, is commonly adopted to determine the vessel bridge collision(VBC) probability in domestic and overseas bridge construction. The model stipulates the yaw probability of the ship subject to the Gaussian distribution when calculating the probability of VBC, in which mean value” μ” equal 0, variance” σ” equal to the length of the vessel. But AASHTO model did not accurately reflect the influences of the wind and drift .In this paper, through the statistics analysis of ship yaw angle when the ship passing through the bridge based on trial data and plotting probability distribution images of the yaw angle, find that the probability of ship yaw angle is approximate subjected to normal distribution, and obtain the mean value” μ”, variance” σ” via normal distribution fitting. On this basis, taking into account of the different influence characteristics to the ship passing through the bridge by wind and drift in different fairway, wind drift、flow-induced drift are subjected to normal distribution. With the superposition principle, we can get a new VBC probability model in different wind and drift conditions by adding the yaw angle of the drift, wind drift, flow-induced drift of three normal distributions. Study shows that the expected value of this normal distribution is not in the middle of the channel, but relates to wind drift, flow-induced drift and the distance which the ship inclined to one side of the channel. The standard deviation of this normal distribution is not equal to the length of the vessel but relate to the speed of the ship, yaw angle and air flow changes and other factors.

   19. Operational Hazard Weather Forecast in East and South Asia on 5–15 Day Time Scale

  摘要:   Significant predictability is found in medium-range weather systems over East and South Asia, particularly in those convective hazard weather events bringing numerous obstacles to the transportation and infrastructures. Based on a paid global numerical model product, we developed a real-time warning system to provide medium-range (5-15 days) forecast on danger events. The forecast is probabilistic to help the decision makers do gain/lost estimation. In 2007 and 2008 three flooding events on the Brahmaputra River were well predicted 10 days in advance. The medium-range genesis forecast skill of tropical cyclone (TC), a relative small-scale but much destructive weather system, is also explored on examples of super hurricanes Nargis and Marakot. For both hurricanes the maximum winds and minimum center pressure are well predicted as well as the tracks. The forecast bias might be due to the global model’s resolution limit or the missing of statistical rendering.

   20. Container Ship Routing Design Considering Combined Patterns and Plans of Loaded and Empty Containers

  摘要:   For the rapid development of container shipping industry, structures of container shipping routes become more and more sophisticated. They have already shifted from three simply patterns to a combined pattern. Moreover, the expected maximum profit is crucial to judge the route alternatives, while the profit is affected by the loaded/empty container transport schemes as well as route structure. Therefore, it is very important to develop a model for container ship routing with combined pattern in the condition of taking the transport plans of loaded/empty containers into account. In this paper, the concept of the combined structure is proposed and the optimization of loaded/empty container transport is described. Then, a mixed integer model is developed. In case study, the model is used to optimize East- Asia to Europe ship routing.

   21. Vibration and Noise Mechanism and Reduction Measures of Marine Stern Tube Bearing with High Load at Low Speed

  摘要:   Vibration simulation is carried out by applying multi-body dynamics software ADAMS. The generating process of vibration in stern tube bearing is simulated and the relationship between vibration and noise is analyzed. The vibration mechanism is studied with high load at low speed. The result indicates that vibration and noise of stern tube bearing have uniformity. At a limited range, if the rotational speed is lower and the load is higher, the vibration is more obvious and the noise is more intensive. Combined simulation analysis and practical experience, some corresponding vibration and noise reduction measures are proposed.

   22. Simulation of Piston-Ring Dynamics of a Marine Diesel Engine

  摘要:   Abstract -The piston ring is one of the important movement parts of diesel engine, the wear of the piston ring impact the performance of diesel engine directly. There is relation between the wear of piston rings and the running state of piston rings in the cylinder. The dynamic of piston rings of RTA52U marine diesel engine were simulated in this paper. The results shows that engine speed, cylinder pressure and ring mass affect the dynamic characteristics of piston rings. This is the theoretical basis for monitoring on the wear of the piston ring for the marine diesel engine. 摘要 活塞环是柴油机的主要运动机件之一,活塞环的磨损直接影响着柴油机的性能。而活塞环的磨损又与活塞环在缸内的运行状态有关。文章以RT52U型柴油机为研究对象,对活塞环的动力学特性进行了仿真计算。仿真结果表明气缸压力、转速、活塞环质量对活塞环动力特性有影响。这一研究为监测活塞环磨损提供了理论依据。

   23. Determining Width of Channel for Large Container Based on Simulation Trials

  摘要:   With the development of the navigation, more and more large container great than before. However, the channel existed can not apply to the large container yet. Therefore, how to determine the channel for the large container is being paid great attention extensively all over the world. Researchers have taken great measures to determine the channel and ensure the maritime safety. Paper presents a method of determining waterway parameters by means of linear regression method. The statistical data from a serial of Ship-handling simulation trials are applied to ship channel design. During the trials, we choice the large container models are traditional, and carried out a series of situation combining wind and flow. The purpose of this study is to determine the main parameters (deviation trajectory coefficient) of width of channel for large container at wind and current condition. The result showed the method is useful and practicable.

   24. Numerical simulation of damaged ship viscous flow

  摘要:   As the cabin is damaged and taken in water owing to collisions, grounding, and striking a reef and so on, the hydrodynamic performance deteriorates. It will be a direct threat to the security of the ship. Once the damaged ship sank, it will cause the huge damage of life and property as well as the pollution of the marine environment. The asymmetrical viscous flow around the damaged oil tanker is simulated. The simulation model is made by Gambit software, the viscous flow around damaged ship is simulated by solving RANS equations with Fluent software. The typical damaged states of the oil tanker is considered, calculating its residual hydrodynamic performance,analyzing the effects of the breakage spot size and position to the flow and the hydrodynamic performance. To verify the simulation results, the correlative experiments are carried on. It indicates that the numerical results consist with the experimental results in the rough.

And the paper analyzes the data measured by the sensors to find out key parameters play an important role in keyless fitting.

   26. Responsibility Assignment Evaluation for Marine Emergency Response Plan

  摘要:   摘要:海上应急行动由于分工不明、责任不清,容易出现部门间互相推卸责任的现象,导致应急行动缓慢甚至失败。为此,论文运用线性责任矩阵法(LRM),对海上突发事件应急预案进行责任分配评价。首先明确工作分解结构(WBS),将应急预案分解为预警和预防、应急响应、后期处置和应急保障4类应急任务,然后确定参与应急的组织结构,接着定义了决定性责任、参与性责任和支持性责任三种责任类型,在此基础上建立应急预案线性责任矩阵,进行责任分配评价。最后,以秦皇岛海上突发事件应急预案为例进行实证分析,结果表明,该应急预案在三类责任分配问题上有待改进。 Abstract: Because of unclear responsibilities, the government departments are prone to shirk their responsibilities, resulting in slow marine emergency action, sometimes even a failure. To this end, the Linear Responsibility Matrix (LRM) was introduced in marine emergency response plan for responsibility assignment evaluation. Firstly, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is made clear, the emergency plan duties fall into four categories: early warning and prevention, emergency response, post-disposal and emergency security. Secondly, the organizational structure involved in emergency response is determined. Then three types of responsibilities are defined, including Decisive, Participatory, and Support responsibility. On this basis, the Linear Responsibility Matrix is established to evaluate responsibility assignment on marine emergency response plan. Finally, Qinhuangdao marine emergency response plan is used as an example. Evaluation analysis shows that there are three types of problems on responsibility assignment.

   27. Numerical Research on Hydrodynamic Force Acting on a Ship Navigating in Water Adjoining Bridge

  摘要:   As the larger ship scale and more bridges above navigation channels, the bridge piers pose great threaten to the safety of ships and the bridges. When navigating in bridge area, the track of ship should be controlled to ensure safety. Interactive hydrodynamic forces are produced to the ship because of the bridge piers. In addition to the complex flow conditions in bridge area and the characteristics of interactive hydrodynamic forces, it is difficult to control the shipping tracks. Using the method of computational fluid dynamics (CFD), solves viscous controlling equations, stimulates the viscous flow in bridge area near ships and piers, calculates the interactive hydrodynamic forces of ships navigating in different places near the piers and analyzes the characteristics of interactive hydrodynamic forces of the hull. Taking the flow of bridge area into account, the interference hydrodynamic forces are calculated and the influence of different flow speed is analyzed. The result shows that the interactive forces of pier to ship are closely related to the relative position of ship and pier. The pier interactive hydrodynamic forces acting on hull are notable when the ship is navigating within certain range of area near the pier, and the pier interactive hydrodynamic forces are related to the velocity of the current in bridge area and ship’s course.

   28. Expert Weight Allocation for Diesel Engine Condition Identification Based on Entropy Theory and Fuzzy Logic

  摘要:   Expert weight allocation is an important issue for the diesel engine condition identification design. The weights of the expert information are affected by many levels. A new method based on the entropy theory and fuzzy logic for the expert weight allocation is proposed in this study. Firstly, the entropy theory was used to analyze the difference between the weights of different experts and the optimal weights to determine the expert assessment level. Thus, a comprehensive weight of condition identification was obtained. Then the fuzzy identification theory and the comprehensive weights were combined to identify the diesel engine condition. The experiment tests of six typical operational conditions were carried out using the diesel engine tester. The analysis results indicate that the six states of the diesel engine can be recognized correctly. The proposed method is effective for the diesel engine condition Identification and has the importance of application.

   29. Classification of Inland Ships

  摘要:   Inland ships classification of the current Inland Ship Crew Competency Certificates referred to STCW Convention 1978, the main division point of which were 200GT and 1600GT .But it cannot adapt to the trend of ship tonnage increases and technology progresses. Aims to propose a new classification standard of the inland crew for the ship class. And access to the opinions about the competency classification of river crew by 4 times interviews with company managers, crew, maritime officers. The inland ships were divided into 19 classes according to the gross tonnage, analyze three indicators which were navigation equipment, radio equipment, and coefficient of maneuvering difficulty with cluster analysis. The results show that navigation equipment, radio equipment, and coefficient of maneuvering difficulty are the factors that influence ship classification. According to the gross tonnage the inland ships can be divided into 2 categories, the division point was 300GT; be divided into 3 categories, the division point were 300GT, and 1000 GT; be divided into 4 categories, the division point were 300GT, 1000 GT and 1800 GT; be divided into 5 categories, the division point were 200GT,300GT, 1000 GT and 1800 GT.

   30. Research on Risk Assessment Model in Waters Adjoining Bridge Based on Bayesian Network

  摘要:   The risk of ships in bridge waterways is caused by a variety of complex factors such as weather and human or engine errors that are difficult to be identified. For the purpose of getting more reliable navigation safety assessment and risk prediction in bridge waterways, the risk factors that affect the safety of navigation is distinguished in this paper via the construction of Bayesian Network(BN). At first, several essential factors that may rise navigation risk in waters adjoining bridge are explored by the statistical analysis of traffic accidents happened along the line of the Yangtze River in recent years. Then the relationship between the above factors is built up in BN by cause and effect analysis. At last, risk assessment is implemented under different circumstances to quantify the probability of accidents, such as collision with bridge or other ship. The most significant factors that are most likely to result in an accident can also be emphasized so that it can help ship operators to be aware of the existing potential risk, which is of great importance to ship maneuvering near bridge waterways.The conclusion can also help confirm the membership function and weight value while studying on the risk of Ship-Bridge Collision.

Furthermore, it can provide more complex and diverse signals without any change in hardware.

This paper uses digital image processing technology, combined with Kalman prediction algorithm, and develops a ship automatic tracking technique based on VTS images. By MATLAB simulation, it showed that the ship tracking technology can track the target ship well, and achieved the automatic drawing of tracking maps.

The application of cross-impact analysis model and the optimum fitting model, which were mostly based on the scenario analysis method led to the predictions about Three Gorges Reservoir area environment evolution and their happening probabilities. The final scenario schemes, which were predict by scenario analysis method, can provide theoretical reference for decision makers to optimize the navigation environment and also to formulate scientific decision.    34. Classification of Navigation Environment Elements in Three Gorges Reservoir based on Cluster Analysis Method

  摘要:   Ship’s navigation environment is the key influence factor in the navigation safety. Elements in navigation environment are complicated, having different characteristics. Therefore, it’s difficult to establish the navigation environment evaluation model including all of the elements, and it’s not necessary. The paper summarizes all the elements of navigation environment and analyzes their characteristics in Three Gorges Reservoir from three aspects comprehensively, which is the environment under water, the environment on the surface of water and the environment above water, defining the quantitative indexes with their weights of all elements by Delphi method. Then cluster analysis method is applied to obtain the cluster analysis map of navigation environment elements, on the basis of which, the paper supply the classification scheme, providing basis for the establishment of navigation environment simulation model in Three Gorges Reservoir.

  摘要:   The traffic jam while crossing the river is the main restriction of the transportation development of riverside city. Two- river and Three-area of Wuhan City is taken as the subject of study, traffic flow of crossing river in the future is reasonably predicted by using gravity models, comprehensive considering the influence of the traffic flow while crossing river, economic and population in each areas. Considering the urban traffic development planning, traffic supply of Wuhan City in the future is confirmed. According to the cross-river traffic problem, the traffic supply and demand coupling is analyzed on the capacity, structure and function of road. From the perspective of traffic demand management, the countermeasures on traffic mode structure optimization and function construction of two-river and three-area of Wuhan City are proposed.

The application example indicated that the approach were objective, veritable and exact.

  摘要:   In order to reduce ship's safety accidents due to fatigue and carelessness of the officers on watch in long time voyage, this paper develops an intelligent voice alarm system for vessel's navigation safety. It uses data fusion technology to process the ships' static and dynamic data which are detected by depth sounder, GPS, AIS and other Nautical instruments .According to collision rules, the system can determine the emergency levels of ship’s situation , sound the alarm with human voice on the bridge in different risk ratings, and give the suggestions of ship operations. It can send warning information to master's room, adjacent vessels, VTS centers, maritime search and rescue units and so on to take effective measures.

  摘要:   The three-dimensional video of under water targets could be obtained theoretically with a deep-water video method by scanning laser for salvage, which was studied and put forward. This method was expected to increase the lighting distance of ordinary light from about 2m to 10m order. Combining sonar technology, it would achieve 3d visualization detection in deeper-water salvage, and make it more precise, that is helpful to position the target.

  摘要:   Yangtze River is the most important “Golden Waterway” in China. With increasing attention being given to infrastructure construction of Golden waterway, the safety of inland water transport is becoming important. This article explores how advanced information technology can be used for identi?cation and visualization of hazardous locations along Middle reach area of the Yangtze River using thousands of collisions and groundings data, which are considered to occur dependently of ship channel con?guration, vessel traf?c, and geographic location, from the Yangtze River maritime bureau. The GIS provides a means of managing data by its spatial attributes and proves valuable in validating accident locations and understanding how characteristics of each location may have contributed to accident causation and consequence.

   40. ADRC-based Ship-track Control and its Application to Traffic Safety Evaluation in Harbor Fairway

  摘要:   This paper investigates the control design of a novel ship-track controller, an active-disturbance-rejection- control (ADRC)-based ship-track autopilot, and its application to the traffic safety evaluation in harbor fairway. Firstly, a robust adaptive autopilot for ship track control is developed based on ADRC, which is a model-free controller and performs with minor control energy, strong robustness and easy implementation. The ship-track autopilot can force a ship steering on a prescribed path automatically in the harbor fairway. Secondly, a new ship traffic safety evaluation methodology is achieved based on the automatic track control of a ship. Consequently, an impersonal and advising strategy of ship safe steering/maneuvering action in the investigated fairway can be further achieved. In the simulation research, the ship-track controller is trained and tested based on a “true model” of a ship motion in the constrained waters, where the effects of the wind, the current and the sallow waters as well as the band effect were all considered. Also, the simulation results provide a comparison of the advising policies between the experts’ maneuvering and the automatic control maneuvering on the marine simulators. Thus, the evaluation of ship traffic safety is conducted and performed by this mode. The results in this paper will provide a safe, reasonable and scientific reference policy on ship handling and the traffic safety assessment in the constrained fairway.

   41. Marine Police Warship Anti-sinking Training Simulator

  摘要:   When a ship flooded, anti-sinking emergency measures must be taken to protect the vitality of the ship. The command and the action of damage control directly affect the ship’s safety. Based on the computer simulation technology, this paper introduces an anti-sinking training simulator for training marine police shipman how to prevent his warship sank when it flooded. Through the operations on computers, the basic operation of ship damage control, ship damage control organization and command can be simulated on this system. The system can also give emergency aid decision-making and assess the average accident risk for ship flooded. China Marine Police Academy has used this system to train warship trainees. Application proves that this system is effective. The system’s structure, functions, key technologies and implementation will be detailed in this paper.

  摘要:   The paper presents probabilistic model of under-keel clearance evaluation for ships approaching to the ports. The model enables to determine the distribution of under-keel clearance in several ships passages and in further step to assess the probability of ships grounding accident during the port approach. The results of using this type of model could be used in risk assessment of ships entering to the ports, therefore it is possible to use probabilistic model in Harbour Master everyday decision making practice and also in ports’ design. The paper is concerned with the analysis of under-keel clearance of ships based on real research which present practical using of probabilistic model.

  摘要:   Based on a large number of real marine accidents, the elementary database of marine traffic accidents is constructed by fully investigated and sufficient survey and analysis, which is used as the source data of data mining. Then the multi-dimensional association rule and Apriori algorithm are introduced to explore the knowledge in accordance with the actual regulars so as to find out the preferential information behind a great quantity of maritime casualty causes. Consequently, the corresponding rules are obtained, and the research proves that technique of data mining is effective and prospective to apply to marine safety. It provides scientific grounds for the maritime traffic management and decision support.

   44. Study on the Coordination between Berths and Channels in Tianjin Port

  摘要:   With the steady-state growth of throughput in Tianjin port, it is of great importance to search for the potential bottleneck that restricts its further development. The coordination development of berths and channel plays a vital role in the function exertion for every port. At first the statistical regularity of coming vessel, berthing time and so on are studied. Then the whole process for the vessels from entering the anchorage ground to leaving the port is realized by discrete-time simulation model, which is based on the proposed distributions. The capacity of the main channel in Tianjin port is studied under two scheduling strategies: First Come First Served (FCFS) and Minimum Berth-time First Served (MBFS). At last, some proposals are given to coordinate the development of berths and channel in Tianjin port. Simulation results show that MBFS is better than FCFS strategy and enhancing vessel grade is an effective way to promote the throughput of Tianjin port.

   45. Research on Navigation Information Flow Architecture of the Three Gorges under the Support of Internet of Things

  摘要:   The Three-gorge river section is from Miaohe of Xiling gorge to Zhongshuimen of Yichang, covering a water area of 59 kilometers, which is the key section of the three gorges hub navigation, the ship lock, ships, and cargos of this section constitute a complex transportation logistics system, this system concentrates a large amount of information, and some of the information changes with time. The obtaining manner and processing method of such information are both important content of the work, without which the whole system would be obstructed. By means of cluster analysis and relational grade analysis of the navigation information, and with the application of research concept from internet of things, the system operating situation can be obtained by observing the information stream, and the navigation information flow architecture of three gorges under the support of internet of things is built, therefore the traffic flow and material flow can be predicted and analyzed, so a better ship lock scheduling is achieved As for the key technology for building the navigation information flow architecture of three gorges, such as information collecting methods, information transmission means and information processing approach are also illustrated.

   46. Research and Design of Ship and Cargo Monitoring System Based on Pervasive Network

  摘要:   In the shipping transportation, the identification, environment and location of the cargo should be monitored in real time. This paper developed a ship and cargo monitoring system based on pervasive network which integrates bluetooth, zigbee and GPRS/CDMA technology. The information requested in shipping transportation is provided by sensors set in WSN(Wireless Sensor Network) and RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) tags.. RFID tags, in which the positioning and environmental information can refresh the parameters of sensors in the WSN, are identified by RFID reader immediately. Moreover, zigbee technology, as one of the most suitable WSN technologies for monitoring and controlling, is convenient for communication within the WSN. Besides, bluetooth is the most popular wireless network for smart devices to connect in the network of the system. The ship and cargo monitoring system presents a monitoring method which is effecient and well controlled.

   47. Dynamic Risk Early Warning Technique for Regional Airport Safety and Security

  摘要:   In order to control the safety and security risk in regional airport operation, a series of dynamic risk early warning technology are put forward in this paper. Based on system and dynamic thought, a three dimensions hazard identifying chart is set up. By using this chart, the hazards which the regional airport are facing can be identified by time, space and logistic dimension. A multi-dimension risk assessment model is also presented to improve the regional airport risk managemnet level. At last, a comprehensive early warning model for regional airport safety and security is given in this paper.

Thereinto, 12 of them loading hazardous chemicals, the salvaged 7 containers are non-chemical. That is to say, there still have 12 containers loading hazardous chemicals in Yangtze River. Because of the waters with deep water, fast-flowing, complex characteristics from Three Gorge Dam to Gezhouba Dam, there are security risks for divers' working and some difficulties to salvage sediments in technically. According to the situation, this article introduces an automatic control float device underwater used for salvaging sediments, based on the development and application of Siemens S7—200PLC. At the same time, it solves divers' security issue on account of the equipment operating successfully without workers, whose uncomplicated structure is easy to move. First of all, the float device monitors its internal pressure and the pressure in deep water separately through two pressure sensors. Then using a Siemens S7—200PLC controls the opening and closing of submersible pumps, based on the detected changes in pressure, to achieve the float device's sinking and floating.Moreover, the automatic float device is equipped with a hanger in the bottom, the hanger applies magnechuck lockset and clamp working together, which play a dual fail-safe role for the containers reinforcement. Additionally, the automatic float device applies ROV (remote operated vehicle) to monitor the circumstances underwater and assist salvage sediments unmanned in deep water.

   49. Study on assessing dynamic risk of ship collision

  摘要:   To assess the risk of ship collision, especially the real-time risk, has played a more and more important role in the field of automatic collision avoidance, Intelligent Navigation System, and Decision-making Support for vessel traffic management in port and waterways. Based on fuzzy logic method, the authors introduce the membership function of the collision factors of Distance to Closest Point of Approach (DCPA),Time to Closest Point of Approach (TCPA) and encounter angle by using AIS(automatic identification system) data. Combined with the risk model of SAMSON (Safety Assessment Model for Shipping and Offshore on the North Sea), the basic calculation can be improved into dynamic risk assessment. The method can be used for discriminating the risk of ship collision and benefit maritime operation services.

Based on AHP and DEA approach, this article chooses seven ports such as Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Singapore, Rotterdam, and Hamburg as subjects, and quantitatively evaluates the international competitiveness of ports. According to the final comparative results, the essay analyzes and concludes the existing problems of interactive development in our nation’s ports.

  摘要:   When an accident happens during hazmat transportation, it should be handled in an appropriate way to minimize the loss and prevent expansion. This paper gives a method to decide the scheduling scheme fast and effectively. Firstly we do research on the on the statistical data of the hazardous material incident and distribution of storage of emergency commodity along the Changjiang River. Then we use the Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm (PSO) to optimize the scheduling scheme, and develop a mathematic model with the target of shortest time used .Based on the model and the features of such accidents, we can get the optimal scheduling scheme.

  摘要:   Setting the characteristic of solar cell in simulated marine environment as research direction, a set of designs of hardware for experimental system based on information fusion are completed. On the basis of experimental system, compared the system model of functional and data type in the information fusion, an optimal multi-layer hybrid logic evaluation model based on information fusion has been established for further research on the affect and mechanism between the multi-factor of marine environment and solar cells. This research can provide an integrated theoretical method for accurately analyzing the power characteristic of solar cells in marine environment.

  摘要:   Exploration of the DEVS(Discrete EVent Simulation) system on the VC.NET platform, presents a message-oriented generation method of discrete queues , and implements dynamic control toward objects of system. By designing and optimizing the objects' generation,updating and destruction, the efficiency and fidelity of simulation system have been improved. As a case study, events of ship transiting the Three Gorges Lock is simulated, where firstly statistical analysis is carried out to extract the characteristics of transit, and secondly by using the List<T> class of the generic array data, the dynamic traffic queue is flexibility simulated.

   55. Appraisement Method of Integral Rigidity of Navigation Channel Bridges Based on Ambient Vibration Signals

  摘要:   In order to appraise a newly built bridge over navigation channels, a effective appraisement method of integral rigidity of the bridges with three spans based on ambient vibration signals is developed. It includes the measurement system design of vibration signals and layout of sensors. Measured vibration frequencies of the first five orders are greater than the corresponding calculation values, which shows that the integral dynamic rigidity meets the demand of design code. Measurement and analysis of a practical engineering demonstrates that the appraisement method of integral rigidity of navigation channel bridges proposed in this paper is effective.

   56. Research on the Navigating Capacity of Ships in the Three Gorges Reservoir Waterway

  摘要:   Since September 2006, the Three Gorges Reservoir has increased to a depth of 156 m, with the construction of the Three Gorges Project reservoir.Its navigation environment and navigation structure have undergone major changes. This paper started from the traffic flow characteristics of the ship, using the mathematical statistics, queuing theory and other theories, quantitatively analyzing the factors affecting the navigating capacity in Three Gorges reservoir waterway. This paper’s model has some significance as a reference to maritime administration on ensuring the navigational security of the reservoir waterway.

   57. Navigation Environment Safety Research on Channel Expansion Project Using PAWSA

  摘要:   Based on the PAWSA method, the channel project is made safety analysis. This method can effectively identify the pre-assessment indicators which is in the state of "unsafe" in the channel system and describe the state quantitatively. The combination with "qualitative" and "quantitative" in analysis access not only avoid one-sidedness of qualitative evaluation, but also guarantee a practical reference for quantitative evaluation. The results can objectively reflect the safety state in the channel expansion, and play a supporting role in the safety measures developed by channel competent authorities.

   58. Toward an Effective Human Reliability Assessment

  摘要:   High risks caused by human failures stimulate the development of human reliability assessment (HRA) studies. Cognitive reliability and error analysis method (CREAM), as one of the best known second generation HRA methods, presents a sound cognitive model and framework with an emphasis of the whole characteristics of operational context. To enhance its practicability, effective integration of CREAM with the well-established quantitative risk analysis (QRA) methodologies is seemingly unavoidable, especially from an overall system safety analysis perspective. How to provide a practicable process to obtain numeric results of action failures is essentially a problem of striking a balance between the process complexity and the result accuracy. This paper proposes a Bayesian probabilistic model to determine the contextual control mode (COCOM) of human performance which substitutes the existing deterministic method. The kernel of the proposed approach is to use Bayesian networks to model the effects of common performance conditions (CPCs) to the COCOMs and to estimate the extent to which the CPCs have positive and negative influence on the COCOMs. It is expected that the new method is capable of providing a better estimate of the COCOM without compromising the visibility and easiness of the classical prospective analysis of CREAM.
